Finished!
Bounce Tennis is complete! It took a bit longer then it should have (thank the holiday season and World of Warcraft), but I learned a lot throughout the ordeal. I think of how much more I know about everything involving games then I did a month or two ago. I'm really anxious to start pumping out some fun, high quality games, but I feel that there are a lot of skills I'm not quite comfortable with yet.
I need to work on:
1. AI
2. Tiling Systems
3. Storing data (arrays containing game information like tetris blocks, breakout tiles, enemy locations etc.)
4. File i/o's (for debugging and saving/loading games)
I'm gonna start at the top of that list. Hopefully this new project won't take long. It's going to be a simple Finite State Machine (FSM). One robot will be controlled by the keyboard. The other robot will be controlled by computer AI. The computer robot will have to find the player robot using an algorithm, and when it gets close it will attack. The robot will decide whether or not to run away and regenerate or keep fighting based on it's health and the other robot's health. I may throw some twists up as I see fit.
It won't be fun for anyone except for me so there won't be much flash (I'm definitely not calling it a Game). I'm hoping to be done with it by the end of next weekend. You can view status of the project once it's started on the right. I will call it Robot Attack or something.
