Console Combat Code Posted
Ok well I lied again. I didn't really clean up the console combat code. I separated it into multiple files, but didn't feel like it was worth it to make it look like good source. Some of my design principles were sloppy, circular class references and lack of inheritance for starters. I'm also not sticking to any naming conventions which will probably mess up people perusing my code. But organizing code for a game that is already done is probably the most motivationally exhaustive task in the world. So I decided that it would be more useful to chalk up my mistakes as learning experiences, and never make them again.
As promised, you can now grab the source code from the link to the right.
I also wanted to talk about Duck Slaughter 2. I'm going to delay the project again, this time indefinitely. I think that I will definitely get around to it in a few months, but right now I've got other things on my plate. TTBSSSL is chugging along and I want to make sure that it gets done as fast as possible. I have also started working on a tiling engine for a side-scrolling game in the future. It's just preliminary stuff at this point but I have never done anything like that before and I wanted to get some basic stuff fleshed out before I commit to any project of that magnitude.
With all that going on I just couldn't see myself spending time on a mouse shooter (even if it's a really kick ass mouse shooter). Like I said, in a few months when some of these projects are done I will probably come back to it and be able to get it done even faster than it was going to take now. Sorry if this upsets the fan base...all pre-ordering fees will be refunded.
