The Dreaded 5%!
Hello. Worked on Console Combat a lot this week. Most of the game is completed, the rest is just sprucing it up, tightening things up, fixing bugs, etc. This is what I call "The Dreaded 5%!) The dreaded 5% is when the game is 95% done. The last 5% is always the hardest to finish. I'm not actually sure why this is, I think it has to do with the fact that at 95%, you're not seeing anything else come out of your work, you are just tweaking things that are already there.
Usually deadlines are the impetus for completing the dreaded 5%, luckily I have one for this game. I'm not going to post Console Combat until it is completely finished. The reason is that it's not that fun of a game to begin with, and it's even less fun when you can't experience all of the features. It should be complete next weekend or at the latest, the weekend after that.
Worked on TTBSSL a little bit. It's a pretty fun game even though nothing is really happening yet. I think when it's polished and the artwork and storyline are in it's going to be a real hit. We have a CGD meeting tomorrow and after that I will feel more confident about posting details and specifics about the game and story, I may even post the working demo that I have. I'm at the point with the project where it's really fun to work on and add stuff to. I guess this is the antithesis to the dreaded 5%, "The Thoroughly Awaited 20-90%" where you don't have to work on getting the game up and running, but every feature you add creates an entirely different experience for the game.
Anyway, talk to you again soon.
